Back in 1953, Sonia Flis married Sam Rykiel, the owner of a Parisian fashion shop. At that time Sonia was already knitting away at her own designs and in 1968 she opened her own boutique. A place where one could marvel at the brightly colored striped sweaters in the finest fabrics. Audrey Hepburn was a name that was soon added to her client list.

 

In 1990 a new and much younger line appeared; Sonia by Sonia Rykiel. Left-bank chic with a touché of French elegance. Stripes, prints and texts that Sonia mixed together seemed the perfect recipe. Now in 2012, we still see a lot of beautiful colors merged with her très, très chic designs. Fun and French synergized. But let’s nog forget the wonderful jewellery and bags. C’est magnifique!
