Fashion offers a versatile range of colors (and non-colors) that return each season or are of the more trendy kind. Influenced by your personal taste and style, certain colors become favorite, but also because they flatter your skin tone - all of this depends on your color type. There are basically four different color types: the spring, summer, fall and winter type. Every type comes with its own package of characteristics that are based on the undertone of your skin and hair color and the color of your eyes. The spring type’s color palette refers to bright, light colors with a warm undertone. Think light yellow, shades of beige, oranges, apricot, greens like olive green and sea green and reds like orange-red and coral.  

Muted, light colors with a cool undertone refer to the color palette of the summer type. Think pastels like minty green and pink, lighter dusty and medium saturated shades of purple, greys - like light grey and also its darker counterpart: anthracite - neutrals like off-white, blues – maybe with a wash of grey - and also browns like taupe. 

The fall type’s color palette consists of dark colors with a warm undertone and blended colors like rusty brown. Think shades of red like brick, terracotta, warm orange, dark green hues - like olive green and army green - browns with a red undertone, deep shades of blue and purple and warm yellows like ochre.

The winter type’s color palette consists of dark colors with a cool yet bright undertone. Think shades of grey, green and blue with a cool undertone, complemented by colors like yellow and purple with a wash of grey – like lilac for instance. Also eggplant, frosty blue, black and white dominate the winter type’s palette.
