Round Neck Sweaters

The round neck - including the boat neck and U-neck - immediately represents a soft, feminine look thanks to its curved lines. The round neck is especially suitable for the A-line Round, 8-line, and O-line body types. If you have larger breasts and a short neck, opt for an open round neckline. PS layering different round necklines creates a playful ensemble and adds extra warmth.

V-neck Sweaters

The V-neck or the rounded V-neck shows a certain amount of skin and is therefore flattering. It's a great choice for A-line Straight, V-line, H-line, 8-line, and O-line body types. If you have larger breasts and a short neck, the V-neck is an absolute must! To add extra warmth, try wearing it over a jersey turtleneck and experiment with color combinations.

Turtleneck Sweaters

The turtleneck sweater is a true fall favorite and this season, it's particularly popular in layered combinations. With an almost classic approach, this item is a versatile multitasker in your wardrobe. If you have a long neck and/or small breasts, the turtleneck sweater is a flattering choice.

Sweaters are typically known for their long sleeves, but there are also several variations. Think of sweaters with short sleeves, sleeveless sweaters/vests, and sweaters with one- or off-shoulder designs. Sweaters with long sleeves are suitable for all body types - provided they are styled well. If you have heavier (upper) arms, opt for a sweater with loose-fitting, long sleeves. Slim arms can embrace volume - think balloon sleeves.

Short Sleeve Sweaters

Short-sleeved sweaters clearly resemble the design of a T-shirt. These sweaters are often finely knit so they can be worn like a T-shirt and combined easily. If you have an A-line Straight or A-line Round body type, go for a sweater with short, voluminous sleeves to create a nice balance. If you have long arms, a short-sleeved sweater can visually shorten them.

Sleeveless Sweaters

The sleeveless sweater has made a major comeback. It comes in both round and V-neck styles or with a turtleneck. Wear it solo with bare arms, layered over a blouse or jersey long-sleeve, or under a blazer.

One-Shoulder/

Off-Shoulder Sweaters

One-Shoulder/Off-Shoulder Sweaters

One-shoulder and off-shoulder sweaters are feminine because they reveal a considerable amount of skin. If you prefer not to show too much skin, pair them with a tank top or a collared shirt. The ultimate must-have? The Damsville sweater from American Vintage - currently available in as many as 12 colors!

The range of knits is endless, each with a different look. At PB, we distinguish between fine and chunky knit sweaters. In general, the rule is: the chunkier the knit, the more volume an item gets, and the trickier it is to style. But not with our tips.

Styling Tips

for Chunky Knits

Styling Tips for Chunky Knits

The chunkier the knit, the fuller the silhouette appears, and the more important it is to balance your outfit. Opt for a vertical pattern because it visually elongates, making the width of the knit look less bulky. If you want to wear a chunky knit top, go for a more fitted bottom and/or wear the top loosely tucked into your pants to showcase the feminine waist. You can also bring balance by combining chunky knits with a much finer fabric quality like satin, leather, or poplin.

Styling Tips

for Fine Knits

Styling Tips for Fine Knits

Fine knits often have a classic feel, making them easy to style. Use the fine-knit sweater to balance the edgy look of your oversized jeans or to emphasize the focus on the bottom piece. PS fine knits are also perfect for layering.

It's clear: the sweater selection is endless. And within this selection, there are also sweaters with square necklines, polo sweaters, sweatshirts, hooded sweaters, and sweaters with prints and patterns. Our main tip? Choose sweaters that match your personal style. Do you have questions about styling sweaters? Feel free to contact one of our Editors.
