Founded with love for artisan craftsmanship by Shannon Sheedy when she and her husband travelled India and Nepal for a year, The Dharma Door really tells a personal story. It was a flight of Tibetan refugees that inspired the Aussie couple to design the brand's first product in 2004, and soon after Shannon noticed the positive impact made by placing ongoing orders for artisans. This was the starting point for a journey that took her to Bangladesh, where she discovered the timeless craft of woven jute. From their beautiful hills-surrounded home studio in Byron Bay they now work together with a global team and a not-for-profit NGO group that genuinely supports their artisans.
