What lipstick colors best suit your skin undertone?

Every type of woman can find a suitable lipstick to wear, you just need some basic knowledge on undertones; of both your skin and the lipstick itself. Think of a red lipstick for instance - you can find that in different tones: from a fresh tangerine red to a classic tomato red. Based on your skin tone, there’s a suitable color for every woman.

1.      Different lipstick tones

Lipstick colors can generally be divided in two categories: warm and cool colors.

> Warm colors look fresh with an orange or pink undertone - as shown in the left column.

2.      Your skin’s undertone

Your skin tone changes over the year due to sun exposure, but your skin undertone remains the same. Read below how to discover yours.

Cool undertone:

- Your veins lean towards blue or purplish blue

- Your skin has an overall pink, red or blue look

- Your burn quicker than you tan

- Beige clothes suit you better than white clothes

> Opt for colors with a cool undertone. 

Warm undertone:

- Your veins lean towards green

- Your skin has an overall yellowish, olive or gold tone

- You tan easily and seldomly or never burn

- White clothes suit you better than beige clothes

> Opt for colors with a warm undertone.

Neutral undertone

- Your veins are not distinctively blue nor green

- Your skin shows a mix of reddish and yellowish hues

- You tan slowly and seldomly burn

- Both beige and white clothes suit you

> You can handle both cool and warm lipstick colors.
