1. A good start is half the job

Start with thoroughly cleansed skin by using a cleanser and maybe a mild exfoliator to remove dead skin cells, creating radiant skin. Dry your skin by gently dabbing with a clean towel and hydrate with a moisturizer or serum, and finish off with an SPF. Using SPF daily is the most important step to any beauty routine and doubles as a glowy primer.

2. Flawless base

For the best ‘your-skin-but-better’ finish, apply a light foundation or tinted moisturizer. Follow with a concealer to even out any areas that need extra coverage. Apply concealer under the eyes for a fresh look and on the inner and outer corners for a slight visual lift. Tip: use your fingers to apply product by pressing lightly into the skin - your fingers’ body temperature makes it easier for the foundation to melt into the skin, for a more natural effect. And keep in mind: less is more!

3. A sleek do

The next step in creating that much-talked-about ‘clean look’, is to tightly pull back your hair into a ponytail or slicked back bun. Or wear it loose, but make sure the hair is combed back tightly at the top and sides. Spray some hairspray on your comb to keep your flyaways at bay to ensure a smooth and polished look. Tip: you can also use the brush of a clear eyebrow gel to deal with stubborn little hairs.

4. Faux after-sun glow

Back to the skin! Your now evened-out base could use a touch of color, right? Opt for a healthy slightly flushed look with some blush on the cheeks – preferably a cream blush to maintain that glow. Lightly tap the pigment all the way up your cheekbones for that lifted effect and you can even bring it across the top of your nose for a perfect faux after-sun glow. Elevate your clean look with a dash of highlighter on the cheekbones, nose and the inner corners of your eyes. Define the cheekbones with a bit of contouring using a cream bronzer - using a cream product for this step is perfect for imitating the skin’s texture. Apply a small amount right under the cheekbones, and along the hair and jawline. Adding a small amount to the eyelids offers extra bronzed appeal.

5. Fixate the brows

Every brow is unique and the ‘clean look’ is meant to emphasize your unique features even more. Whether you like brushing your brows upwards or prefer a more sleek look, we’re aiming for brows that stay intact all day long. Use an eyebrow gel to fixate hairs and fill in any gaps by applying a brow pen in soft hairlike strokes. But remember to follow your brows’ natural shape at all times. So easy!

6. Your lips, but better

With a lip gloss or balm, you’ll perfect your ‘clean makeup’ look. Opt for a sheer product, a subtle tinted gloss or a neutral, nude balm. Tip: you can also use the cream blush that you’ve applied on your cheeks for the lips.
