Soft Colors is represented by soft tones that often have a cool undertone - think pastel pink, blue, green and yellow combined with subtly muted colors. This color palette is created by mixing colors with mostly white, light yellow or grey. These so called Soft Colors often look paler and aren’t always favorite, but as from now we’re proving otherwise. 1. Mixed Pastels

Mixing pastel shades creates a soft, feminine look. Create an outfit with a single pastel hue or opt for a look with multiple pastel hues. De basic rule of combining a maximum of 3 colors is also applicable to mixed pastels. Soft Colors don’t overrule, but rather complement each other and create a nice color balance.

2. Tonal

Pairing a tonal, or in other words, a color-on-color look is easy to apply within every color group, including Soft Colors. For example , think of a pastel blue hue combined with denim blue and dark blue. This color group - blue in this case - is emphasized, and simultaneously adds a certain calm appeal.  Add warmth by choosing a color with a warm undertone within the color group - think of cobalt blue within the blue colors.

3. Earth tones

Earth tones cover a color range from beige to khaki green and taupe with a warm, yet neutral appeal. Earth tones radiate warmth and are the perfect counterpart to the cool Soft Colors. Looking to emphasize the warmth of earth tones? Opt for a combination with luxurious materials, like cashmere and silk or a material with a rich texture. A pastel shade styled with a chunky knit in a warm beige color is a perfect example. You can’t go wrong!

4. Non-colors and grey

Non-colors black and white, with grey as a blend of the two, are a neutral base to team with every color group. These colors emphasize and deepen the effect of the color you pair them with - as is the case with Soft Colors. White adds a fresh feel, while black adds a tough edge. Both colors - and grey - are a great match with soft, cool tones.
